Lightning Crowns the Tor

About this wallpaper

A weathered granite tor on a high moor silhouetted against a sky split by forked lightning, rain hammering the balanced stones, the lightning’s violet afterimage burning on the dark heath, low cloud racing past the tor’s crown, the moor stretching black to every horizon.

Built on deep black, dark slate blue, the image keeps its storm mood through tonal depth rather than pure darkness. Light is used sparingly, which is what gives the composition its weight.

Designed as a phone background, it balances legibility and atmosphere: icons stay readable against the darker regions while the composition holds up at full brightness. Free download in full resolution.
