The Shrine the Forest Ate

About this wallpaper
A small roadside shrine swallowed by moss, its stone niche holding only darkness within, ferns erupting from the shrine’s collapsed roof, rain dripping steadily from the mossy eaves, the shrine’s offering bowl filled with black rainwater, the forest pressing close on every side.
Built on deep black, the image keeps its ruins mood through tonal depth rather than pure darkness. Light is used sparingly, which is what gives the composition its weight.
Designed as a phone background, it balances legibility and atmosphere: icons stay readable against the darker regions while the composition holds up at full brightness. Free download in full resolution.
